Browsing the catalog works without an account. Watchlist and watch history require sign-in and are stored in our database so they follow you across devices.

• Account data (when signed in): email (and profile details from your sign-in provider), plus your saved watchlist and watch history. Authentication is handled by our auth provider (currently Supabase).
• Local device storage: only lightweight player preferences (for example subtitle settings) may remain in your browser’s local storage.
• Technical logs: our servers may receive standard request metadata such as IP address, user agent, and requested URLs for security and reliability.
• Catalog metadata: titles, posters, and related information come from third-party catalog providers (including TMDB).

We use cookies and similar technologies for signed-in sessions (so you stay logged in), player preferences in local storage, and basic site operation. Advertising partners (including Google AdSense, when enabled) may also set cookies to show and personalize ads.

When advertising is enabled, third parties such as Google may use cookies or device identifiers to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other sites. You can learn more and control ad personalization in Google Ads Settings and Google’s advertising policy.

We use technical and preference data to:

• Operate and secure the site
• Provide signed-in watchlist and history, and remember player preferences
• Improve performance and fix errors
• Show advertising when AdSense (or similar) is enabled

The site may load content or scripts from third parties (catalog APIs, CDNs, analytics, or ad networks). Those services have their own privacy policies.

Watchlist and history are kept while your account exists (or until you ask us to delete them). Player preferences stay on your device until you clear site data. Server logs are kept only as long as needed for security and operations.

You can sign out anytime from the account menu. You can clear local storage / cookies in your browser settings. To request deletion of your account and synced watchlist/history, contact us via this contact form. You can also use browser controls or industry opt-outs for personalized ads where available.

ScreenPlay is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” year above reflects the latest revision. Continued use of the site means you accept the updated policy.
